Busy October

So October has been a really busy and fun month for us.

We met up with Heather's parents in Salt Lake City and Dana got to go to This is the Place monument.
Then we carved pumpkins. At first she didn't like touching the pumpkin guts, but after awhile she really enjoyed helping mom and dad.

Dana and I were lady bugs and Frans was a cowboy. Dana looked so cute and I was really pround of Frans for dressing up, I think he looked really good.

This was our trunk for the truck or treat held at our apartment complex. Alot of people showed up and it was alot of fun.

More October

Grandma and Grandpa Perry came up to trunk or treat with Dana.

She had so much fun walking around with her pumpkin, by the end of the night she was even saying Trick or Treat and Thank You.
After trunk or treat we went to Idaho Falls to go to BOO at the ZOO. There was a bean bag game that Dana loved. Instead of aiming at the holes she just threw the bags behind, she did manage to get the last bean bag through the middle hole.

These were the lights at Boo at the Zoo, we had such a good time and the staff did a great job decorating. Dana loved all of the lights and activities. She even danced to the Ghost Busters theme song.

Learning to let go

I am terrified of Dana falling and hurting herself, so the playground has always been a stressful place for me. So many things she could fall and hurt herself on and so many toys that don't belong to her that she might try and take! Lately Frans has been taking her to the playground while I try and unpack, but today I went with them and was amazed. Dana can slide by herself, climb up the rock wall by herself, balance on the curb and then walk herself home. Talk about feeling like a failure, this whole time I have been holding her back when she could be doing so much more. So I have decided maybe it's time to learn to let go and let Dana explore without so much help from mom.

oh boy

The question of how to entertain and discipline Dana has been a really tough one for me. Ever since Dana figured how to turn the TV on herself she doesn't really seem all that interested in any other activities. I have tried time outs, explanations, removing her from the room, everything! So my mom suggested that maybe I should just unplug the TV. It seemed reasonable and I figured there was nothing Dana could do about it. WRONG!! So a couple of days ago Dana is busy turning the TV on and off and I walk over turn the thing off and then unplug it. Then I walk over to the couch to see how this method is going to go over. Dana tries the remote, the buttons on the front, and various other methods of turning the TV on without success. I am thrilled! Then she turns around and gives me this look that clearly showed her estimation of my intelligence, walks to the wall notices the unplugged cord and the plugs the thing back in, walks back to the front and push the on button. Occasionally Dana does want to play with mom, one of her favorites is the bucket with shapes cut out of the lid that you put little cut outs through. She'll give a cutout one or two tries to get through the lid and when that doesn't work she simply takes the lid off and places it inside of the bucket. Duplos are fun as long as mom builds the towers and Dana can take them apart. Playdoh is also fun, but only if mom is there to feed it to. Dana:2 Mom:0

Finally when I get fed up and my patience is wearing thin Dana walks over, places a hand on either side of my face and gives my a big kiss. Dana:3 Mom:0

What is it with the cupboards?

So Dana has taken over my cupboards on either side of the oven. I kind of need this space for other stuff like food and water bottles, but every time I put something in there she pulls it right back out (except for the water since it's too heavy to lift).

That's my girl

Dana is growing up so fast and has therefore decided that it's time to wear mom's shoes. She started out with my flip flops and flats, but has now moved onto High Heels! I love it. It's nice to know that she's going to take after mommy in at least one way.
P.S. that's clean clothes that had just come out of the dryer and I was putting it away, but I just had to capture the moment.

Sandcastles, shells, and water

Today is the last day we had to really do anything with Frans before he starts his internship, so we decided to visit Lake Mead. It was amazing...88 degrees with water that was 85 degrees. It was so much cooler there and the water was amazing. Dana loved splashing around and digging in the sand, she made her very first sandcastle today. She wanted to stay all day long. She was laughing and running around like crazy and Frans and I were having a blast watching her have so much fun. Overall it was one perfect day!

Hot Hot Vegas

Well we are all moved in here in Herderson, NV. We are only about 20 min the strip and are really enjoying it. It has been so hot here...the first couple of days were in the high 90's low 100's but today it is supposed to cool down to 93 before climbing back into the 100's by the end of the week. Dana is really enjoying the swimming pool at the apt, she goes nearly everyday. Yesterday we went to Madame Tussaud's and the shops at the Venetian. It was alot of fun to look at all the designer stores.

Ear Infection

Well this week has definately been trying. Dana has decided that she is car sick...which sucks because we live in Mattawa which means an hour travel to most places. Then yesterday we were in Othello and she was throwing up and then covering her ears like it was too loud. So today we went to the doctor and found out that she has an ear infection. Poor kid.

Spring Playground Fun

So Dana went to the park today and had so much fun...we went on the swings.
There were three slides but this was her absolute favorite.

This makes all the temper tantrums worth it...

Kisses

This week when Dana hasn't been screaming at you because her teeth hurt (molars) she has been blowing kisses. Then a couple of days ago she decided that blowing kisses just isn't enough, so she puts her face up to yours and puckers up. It is the cutest thing ever, however, last night she was giving Heather kisses and she decided to add tongue. EWW!!

Dana pics

Dana decided that she would like to help Mom clean up the kitchen. She picked up the broom all by herself, but we had to take it away when she started to twirl around and hit everything and knock it off of the counter. She sure likes to help with anything if she can or we let her.

We decided to get Dana her own chair because she likes to lounge like her dad on the coach but we got tired of her falling off so we got her a Dora chair for all of you who know me. Yes it is a Dora chair but that was the only one they had at the store, I did not have any choice. And the next week we saw a princes one I would have much rather had that one but it was not around at the time. So Kattie & Jenny I know that I have said she will never get anything Dora but I lost on this one.
Dana Got a tunnel and she loves it so we took some pictures of her in it.

It is now done!!

Well it has been a full week with no pain now. I have finally passed the stone. Yes it has been almost a week now. I passed it on Monday at the hospital at about 3:00 am. So I guess that means it was on Tuesday. I also have now herd back from Centennial, and it sounds like I will be getting an internship with them over the summer. The internship will more then likely be in the Seattle area, but they have not told me officially yet were I will be going. When this happens it will be the most exciting news that we can get. Dana is now in a biting stage and has bit Heather many times but she finally bit me for the first time in a place that is not appropriate I was furios she started crying just because of my yelp and she cryed in mom's arms for awhile but I did not feel bad for her crying because I felt that it was deserved for biting me.

Now What!!

Well I went back to the hospital again last night because my kidney was hurting again this time they found out that I also have a kidney infection as well as the kidney stone. What is next! Can things get any worse for me this week. I sure hope not!

Dana being silly

For some reason Dana likes to crawl under the chair while Heather or I are sitting in it. So I decided to take some pictures of her being silly, she likes to try and get to the cords under neath the desk so that she can chew on them. Yesterday Dana brought me a lightbulb from her night light. I had know idea how she got it out of the night light so I went and put it back and then watched her. She pulled off the night light cover then unscrewed the light bulb and brought it back to me again. I didn't know that kids could be that smart. Now I have to unplug the night light so she doesn't stick her fingers in the socket and shock her self.

It Hurts you do not want it to ever happen to you!!

For all of you who do not know, yesterday I woke up and got ready to go up to school so that I could go to the career fair and see if I could find an internship for the summer. While I was up there my kidney started to keel me. At that point I went back home and crashed on the floor. Heather said I think you need to go to the hospital because I think you have a Kidney stone. For all of you who have not had a kidney stone especially you guys it is the worst pain you could ever feel. I just wanted to die. I have not yet past it but it is know in my blater where the doctor said it doesn't hurt. I would like to say doctors must have a high pain tolerance or they just don't know anything, because it still hurts but not as bad as it did. If anyone knows how you get kidney stones please let me know cause I do not drink alot of soda and that is the only thing that I know of that causes it. It Hurts!!!!

Frans

Just trying this out I have no idea wheather or not I am going to like this or not but I thought I would give it a try at least I can post pictures of Dana and my family for all of you who are interested in us.
